Work Zone Speed Enforcement Program
The Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission (PTC) and the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT), in partnership with the Pennsylvania State Police (PSP), are implementing a statewide Automated Work Zone Speed Enforcement (AWZSE) program to reduce work zone speeds, change driver behavior, and improve work zone safety for workers and motorists. How do Photo-Enforced Speed Limits work?
Exceed work zone speed limits by 11 mph or more and the camera takes a photo of your license plate.
What are the penalties?
First offense is a warning letter. Second offense is a $75 fine. Third offense (and every offense afterward) is a $150 fine.
How will I know when I’m entering a Photo-Enforced Speed Limit area?
